When Steve and I receive a Request for a Quote, it is usually followed by two questions that are absolutely critical to being awarded the project. The first, and probably most important, is How Much do Millwork Shop Drawings Cost?

The second, and equally important, is How Long does it take to Produce Shop Drawings?

On the surface, this is actually a simple question to answer. When we produce a Superior Shop Drawings Quote, we take the time to review all of the areas outlined in the Scope of Work.

An estimated time is assigned to each Plan, Elevation, Section, and Detail required. We then tally up all of the time assigned and voila – we know how long your Shop Drawings should take us to generate.

While this figure is important, it is just a small piece of the puzzle. We now need to see where your project fits in our schedule. This is where things tend to get tricky.

Generally speaking, when a new customer reaches out to us it is usually because their In-House Drafting team is overwhelmed and unable to do the work themselves. This can sometimes lead to some seriously short deadlines.

We do our best to accommodate these requests and take a hard look at what can be shuffled around in our schedule. We feel that it is imperative that we honor our delivery dates.

Depending on the size of the project and our current workload – turnaround times can vary greatly. If time is short and the project is large, we can sometimes provide Shop Drawings in Phases so that the Customer / Architect / Contractor is satisfied while we honor our previous commitments.
